COMMUNITIES & PARTNERSHIPS | CoAction Learning Lab
Building Effective Community of Practice
Bridging silos within and between educational organizations and building community among scholars, practitioners, administrators, students, and others is essential to creating change and improving higher education. But how do you create a thriving and productive community? This working session — and the resource that it will inspire — focuses on real-world examples and actionable approaches to nurturing communities of practice. The first hour of the event will be a panel presentation and the next two hours will be interactive and workshop style, with participants seeding the creation of a new resource to help education changemakers build communities that will be published under a Creative Commons license. Participants are welcome to register solely for the presentation portion (first hour). This event is brought to you via a partnership between ASU ShapingEDU and the CoAction Learning Lab, founded at Penn State.
